Murmann’s love for volleyball ignited at an early age, setting the stage for her remarkable journey. Joining the Leaside Volleyball Club in Toronto at just 11 years old, she showcased exceptional talent by earning a spot in an age group above her own. Her high school years further solidified her prowess, being named the female athlete of the year four times.
Choosing the University of Toronto for her academic and athletic pursuits was a natural decision, considering her proximity to the institution and her positive experiences with their volleyball academies. The confirmation came after meeting Blues Head Coach Kristine Drakich and the team, leading to Murmann’s commitment to the Varsity Blues by the end of Grade 10.
Achievements at U of T
As a member of the Blues, Murmann continued to shine. Her accolades include being named U of T Women’s Rookie of the Year, U SPORTS Rookie of the Year, and OUA East Rookie of the Year in the 2021–2022 season. Notably, as an outside hitter, she led the team in kills per set for the 2021–2022 and 2022–2023 seasons.
